Questions & answers
Does Enduro-Var II yellow?
Yes. It is an oil-modified urethane that dries with a warm amber tone, even though it is water-based.
How do I know it is dry enough to recoat?
If it feels cool to the touch, it is not ready. When light sanding makes a dry powder, it is. Plan on 2+ hours between coats, light use after 7-10 days and a full cure at 21 days; rain, cold and humidity all slow it down.
Why does it clog my spray gun?
The gun has to be completely clean of any other finish; flush it with acetone and then hot water. Some lower-quality guns also overheat in all-day use, which cures the finish inside them, so give them a rest now and then.
Can it go over an existing finish?
No. General Finishes lists it as not for use over existing finishes.
Can I buff the Gloss to a higher shine?
Yes. General Finishes shares a method: build several sprayed coats with light sanding between them, let it dry a week, dry-sand up through very fine grits without any lubricant, then buff with a polishing compound.
