Color:Clear Extender can be added to any General Finishes water based product. As the name implies, it can be used to slow the drying process thus adding to the working time of General Finishes Glazes, Milk Paints, Country Colors or any of their water based topcoats. Secondly, it reduces the viscosity or thins the product permitting different decorating or application techniques.

What does Extender do?
It gives a General Finishes water-based finish more working (open) time and helps it flow out and level. That helps most in hot, dry conditions.
How much do I add?
Up to 15% in water-based products, and 10-15% when spraying in hot or dry conditions. For General Finishes Water-Based Wood Stain, the limit is 5%. In California, adding more than 2% to those stains takes them out of compliance with SCAQMD rules.
Will it change the color?
No. It is clear and does not amber.
Can I store finish that has Extender in it?
Yes, finish with up to 15% Extender can be stored, except thinned General Finishes Water Based Wood Stain.
