Questions & answers
What is Enduro White Undercoat?
A water-based white acrylic primer that goes under your paint or pigmented finish. It needs a topcoat.
How is it different from Stain Blocker?
White Undercoat is a physical primer: high in solids and heavy-bodied, so it builds quickly and sands easily. Stain Blocker is a chemical primer made to stop bleed-through. If bleed-through is not a concern, General Finishes points to a physical primer such as White Undercoat.
Can I use it outdoors?
Yes. It is rated for interior and exterior use.
Can it be tinted?
Only to white and light colors.
How do I apply it?
Spray it (an HVLP 1.5 mm to 1.8 mm tip is recommended). On face frames you can use a synthetic or foam brush, or a short-nap or foam roller. Plan on 1-2 coats: dry to the touch in 30+ minutes and ready to recoat after 1+ hour.
