INSTA-CURE has a thin viscosity that is absorbed deep into joints by capillary action and cures in seconds. The surfaces to be joined should be snug and held together while you apply the CA around the edges of the seam. When the CA cures, it emits a fume that can irritate your nose and eyes, so be prepared. Thin CAs work very well on balsa wood, as they penetrate the wood and form more than just a surface bond. Ideal for building and repairing model rockets. Use the super thin version to seal balsa wood; the glue seeps right in after the sanding dries for a smooth finish. Cyanoacrylates (CA), or Super Glue, have become the adhesive of choice for most hobby and home applications. High-quality CAs, such as INSTA-CURE, when used correctly, form bonds that in many cases are stronger than the material being bonded. INSTA-CURE is a highly refined caulking agent (CA) that, combined with its freshness, provides a guaranteed shelf life of 2 years. CAs are reactive monomers that chemically bond (polymerize) when pressed into a thin film. The very thin layer of moisture from water present on most surfaces acts as an alkali, or weak base, which is the catalyst that results in bonding; however, the presence of detectable amounts of water generally degrades the performance of CAs.
